Still raining went
down the harbour through
Riccarton seen
Will Todd, came up
to learn st Jean was
up from Troon, got
a big surprise went
down town with her &
ant, seen the two Mitchells
at the cross, got introduced
to Roken, had her
off told me a lot of stuff
seen Allan he has
been looking more fillies
going out tomorrow with
John Wyllie tomorrow  
to see a one year old entire



Riccarton is a village across the River Irvine from Kilmarnock.

Living in Kilmarnock in 1881 at Low Glencairn Street Toll House are William Todd age 65, his wife as well as his son William age 30

Aunt Jean had a daughter Jean as well as a granddaughter named Jean.

Troon is a town on the west coast of Ayrshire

Kilmarnock Cross is the center of town with seven streets branching off it.

“had her off” Scottish slang for a good talk

An “Entire” is a male horse that has not been gelded.
