Diary page 5, 22 August 1881

Monday the 22
went round the walls
of Derry, about a mile
round them, took a stroll
through the town along
the wharfs. Did not like
it, to much variation
wealth / poverty
sailed at 6 oclock
the irish poured
aboard till there
was scarvely standing
room, it was cold
and no sleep, got
23rd     to Glasgow about
9 oclock & was
in Kilmarnock
